Brenda Slegus was born December 14th 1967 in Cleveland, Ohio to the union of John Thomas Slegus and Stella Sue Craft, both preceded her in death.
Brenda received a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Resources from Cleveland State University. She was currently employed at Middlebury Academy as a Data Manager. However she worked as a Human Resources Director at various companies for many years. She truly enjoyed working with students in all grade levels and believed that “All students have the ability to succeed and thrive in our daily changing world.”
Brenda loved planting flowers, traveling and spending time with all of her family. Her favorite movie was the “Godfather” and her favorite music artist was Teena Marie. She enjoyed going to the Amish Country and taking long walks in the park with “Precious”. Although she never got to take her dream vacation to Hawaii, she enjoyed taking lots of mini-vacations to various parts of the country.
Brenda will be remembered for her kindness and her gentle spirit. She always entered a room with a smile and ready to engage in lengthy conversations. She was very supportive to her family and always gave assistance, guidance or support to anyone that was in need.
Brenda is survived by her husband Karlos Lamont Chandler, her two daughters Arianne Lynn “Slim” and Alexis Catherine “Mookie”. One Sister, Theresa Curry. Mother-in-law, Lucille Chandler of Bessemer Alabama, Six nephews, Darrius, Demondo, Dylan, Mario, Montay, Marquis, One niece, Tatyana all of Cleveland Ohio. Brother-in-law, Jeffery Chandler of San Francisco CA, Sister-in-law Shamekia Chandler of Cleveland Hts, OH. The love of her life, her 4-legged friend “Precious”.
Family, friends and others whose lives Brenda touched are invited to First Beulah Baptist Church, 5707 Woodland Ave. Cleveland, Ohio at 11:am on Tuesday, October 9th, 2018 to reminisce and celebrate Brenda.
