Emmitt Grier Sr., 77, died peacefully, in his sleep, after a long battle with cancer at Western Reserve Hospital in Cuyahoga Falls, OH on June 22, 2022. He was born May 12, 1945 to Maude Macklin (deceased) and Harry Macklin (deceased). He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Cynthia Grier. Emmitt was a movie enthusiast, coin collector and loved nature. He was and is a huge role-model to many family and friends. He is well respected and remembered as a strong-willed person who’s legacy will continue to live on. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his Brother Roddy Grier, Sister Gladys Dean “Dee Dee”, Brother-in-law Johnny Dean and Brother-in-law Gerald Thomas. Surviving in addition to his wife, Cynthia Grier, are his children Jessica Hawks (Mark), Richard Grier (Ketura) , Emmitt Grier Jr. and Clerence. as well as siblings Toni Macklin, Mike Macklin (Sharon), Lynwood Macklin (Robin), Janet Macklin, Harry Macklin Jr. “Chuck” (Marilyn), Lilly Macklin, Florence Pruitt (James), Jane Harris, Sister-in-law Lilly Grier as well as a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a great granddaughter. Thank you for your continuous support and memory of Emmitt’s life. May he rest in peace. The old life is gone, and the new life has begun. Memorial Services will be held July 9. 2022 at 24821 Columbus Road, Bedford Heights, Ohio from 12 noon to 3 pm.
