Michael Hardy Obituary

Michael William Hardy was born to Eugene Hardy and Arline Hardy on November 20, 1943 in Birmingham, Alabama. Mike lived with his parents and siblings for most of his childhood and moved in with his paternal grandmother, Luetha Maul, as a teenager. Mike showed signs of artistic talent at an early age. He honed this artistic ability from the time he was a small child, throughout his childhood, and became THE consummate artist by the time he reached high school. All that knew and loved Mike, acknowledged his love for art and his impeccable ability to draw and paint anything and everything. As a young man, Mike eventually moved from the south to Cleveland, Ohio and lived with his brother James Marbury and his wife Olivia Marbury. It is here where Mike gained his footing and eventually became employed with Gould and Westinghouse until he retired. This is also where Mike met and married Willa Mae in November of 1979 and became the father to Yvonne, Felicia, and Clarence. The two would share that bond of love and marriage for the next 40 plus years until his passing. Mike also had a very inquisitive mind. He was a lifelong learner and loved to have deep discussions about movies and other topics of the day. He also loved to take on many home improvement projects around his home. Mike will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him. Mike is preceded in death by his parents Eugene Hardy and Arline Hardy, brothers, James Marbury, John B. Hoytt, Eugene Hardy, and Lorenzo Hardy. He is survived by his loving wife, Willa Mae Hardy, daughters Yvonne (Bobby) McHerrin and Felicia Foster (Willie Denton), son Clarence Foster, grandchildren, Felicia Woodard, Jasmyne Foster, Corderro Foster, Caleb McHerrin, Clarence Foster Jr, and Charles Johnson, sisters, Ethel Green (Frederick), Antionette Drake, and Roberta Barnes. He also leaves to cherish his memory a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends. Memorial will be held Saturday May 1st at 2pm at the funeral home
