William Flinn Obituary

William D. Flinn 1948 - 2018 William (Bill) D. Flinn, 70, of Munson Township passed away Wednesday night December 5, 2018. He was born February 29, 1948 in Ravenna, Ohio to Clarence and Virginia (Klemm) Flinn. After graduating from Ravenna High School in 1966, Bill joined the Ohio National Guard and promoted to First Lieutenant. In 1970, Bill married Peggy Harris of Windham and they welcomed their first child, William David in November of that year. Bill graduated from Ohio Technical College (OTC), Bill taught there for several years before starting his own auto-diesel repair business Preferred Maintenance in Fairport Harbor with fellow OTC Alumni, James Greco. Bill and his wife Peggy moved to Munson Township in the winter of 1978 after their second child, Erica, was born. Bill enjoyed collecting and fixing up cars, bicycling on area trails and having family over for summer cookouts and swimming. Bill was a great father, grandfather, brother, son and friend and he will be deeply missed. He is survived by his children, Erica (Alan) Bongiovanni, William Flinn Jr; and grandson Todd Flinn; sisters Linda (Dennis) Anderson and Nancy (Paul) Pryatel; nephews Justin, Andrew, Cory, Jordan Pryatel, niece Erin (Rick) Fuller; former wife and friend Peggy Stewart and best friend Mike McCandless. Besides his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his nephew Adam Pryatel. Cremation has taken place and a family Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held at a later date. Burial will then be in Grandview Memorial Park, Ravenna.
