Rosie Lee Singleton was born June 9, 1926 to Fred and Minnie Lee Gwin in Tchula, Mississippi. Rosie Lee had a very humble beginning. She was one of six children raise on her Grand Father's farm. She was their second child. Growing up in a loving tight knitted family, she had her own aspiration of family, yet longed for a better life beyond Tchula. Meeting L.D, Singleton, her aspirations began becoming a reality. Determine to succeed. she and the debonair young man married in April 1948, first moving to New Orleans, and then Cleveland, Ohio. Rosie worked numerous as a cook, baker, domestic and retired from Ohio Bell. Three years after coming to Cleveland, her eldest sister, Ercene began studying the Bible with Rosie Lee. Ercene, one of Jehovah's Witness Fully convinced her serving Jehovah was the best aspiration she could have. Rosie Lee was baptized in February 1953. From her marriage to L.D, Singleton (deceased) two children were born, Leonard Donald and Ronald Eugene (deceased). Rosie Lee enjoyed being a woman, wife, mother and most importantly a Jehovah Witness. Rosie Lee was also physically beautiful and often would tease her husband stating......"Look what you if lucky. Hey!" She was also a giving woman; giving, not only to here husband and two spoiled son, but to who met her. Subsequently, she was given the name Momma Rose; a mother to all.

The ministry was rosie Lee's life line. She was frequently criticized about her Spiritual Believes, and would gladly say, Honey, you AIN'T Jehovah, and definitely not my God. Even at ninety-three plus years despite her fading memory and failing health, she still reach out to others providing scriptures she could remember and scriptural counsel to all who listened, She loved friends considering them all as her loving family and children. Rosie Lee endured down to the very end looking for her reward of everlasting life here on earth. Praise Jah!

The son of Rosie Lee thanks each and every individual for the loving support each of you gave my mother and I. Sherry Bostic being the Daughter/Sister she always wanted. Marva Oxtrix for all the delicious foods you provided. The loving Elders Robert (Valerie) Stewart, Terry (Phylis) Towns, Denny (Sonja) Tremble, Glen (Donna) Oxtrix, Chris Daniels, Mr. Darwin (Boopie) Gwin for simulating memories we forgot and laughing out loud joy you gave her, Lou Rawls who called and encouraged here EVERYDAY, Maxine Singleton for helping her when she could not help herself, Minnie Owns, Valeria Oren, Margaret Oren, Luella Oren and Betsy Momma Oren for being the loving daughters and friends All the time. To the many Care Givers who helped her; you did what her own family would not do. And we loved you for that. We are thankful for all who genuinely extended themselves in visits calls and prayers.
